2025年の総括とご挨拶

2025年は、初の海外展示「フランスParis展」を開催し、作品展示機会の創出というZEN展の理念を大きく世界へ広げる素晴らしい年となりました。

国内公募ZEN展では、国内外からたくさんの作品が寄せられ、ジャンルも表現方法も多様で個性にあふれ、まさに「今、美しいもの」を感じられるものでした。各美術館での入場者数も年々増加しており、今年も大変盛況でした。

特に公募ZEN展初のフランスParis展は、在仏日本大使館からの後援を頂き、パリの南部14区にある、パリ国際大学都市Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris 100周年記念祭での開催、会場の日本館で過去最多の来場者数となりました。

美術に手厳しいフランスParisにおいて日本人作家の作品は、丁寧で美しい、手が綺麗であると大変高い評価を得られました。実際に渡仏された作家さまからは、ご自身が展示されている会場の雰囲気、空気感を体験し、来場者とのコミュニケーションも良好で素晴らしい刺激であったと伺っております。

展示方法も、最近のフランス流にしており、大変洗練されていると好評を得ました。今回多くの反響をいただいたことから、次回Paris展においては、関係各所と協議の上、販売形式の導入も視野に入れて検討を進めてまいります。

Official Statement and Summary for 2025

The year 2025 represented a significant milestone in the development of the ZEN Exhibition. Most, notably, we successfully inaugurated our first international presentation, the ZEN Exhibition in Paris, France, thereby advancing our foundational mission of fostering opportunities for artistic expression and extending our activities onto the global stage.

Within Japan, the ZEN Art Exhibition-Open Call received a substantial number of submissions from both domestic and international artists. The works encompassed a wide spectrum of genres and modes of expression, each distinguished by a high degree of individuality and artistic integrity. These exhibitions offered audiences a compelling encounter with contemporary notions of beauty. Attendance at all venues continued its upward trajectory, and each exhibition was met with strong public engagement.

The inaugural Paris Exhibition, held with the esteemed support of the Embassy of Japan in France, took place during the 100th Anniversary Festival of the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris, located in the 14th arrondissement. The exhibition at the Maison du Japon recorded the highest visitor numbers in its history, underscoring the strong interest in Japanese contemporary art.

In Paris—a city internationally recognized for its rigorous artistic standards—works by Japanese artists received particularly high commendation for their meticulous craftsmanship, refined aesthetic sensibilities, and exceptional technical execution. Artists who traveled to Paris reported that experiencing the atmosphere of the venue and engaging directly with visitors provided invaluable professional and creative stimulation. The exhibition design, presented in accordance with contemporary French curatorial approaches, was also highly regarded for its sophistication. In view of the substantial interest received, we will, in consultation with the relevant parties, proceed to examine the possibility of introducing a sales component for the next ZEN Exhibition in Paris.
